James Reed, Church Prison Collaborative Director, and his team of volunteers lead a pre-release program at the Hutchins State Jail on Tuesday evenings designed to help each client make solid transition from prison to community. Named Onesimus Hope, this program works with each client to address the life-controlling issues that can derail a person in transition. The class is specifically for those who have 6 months left before release.
Rebound targets youthful offenders (17-25) as they begin the process of re-entry. Granted, this is possibly the toughest age group with whom to work, however, Rebound works to present life-skill principles first and foremost from a Christian perspective. Additionally, each concept is age-appropriate for our clients.
Ministries 101 implemented the Rebound Program at the Hutchins' State jail and recruits and trains the volunteers for the program.
