Operation Rebound
Ministries 101 is partnering with a program established by the Windham School District, the schools within the Texans Deapartment of Criminal Justice, in partnership with TDCJ Chaplaincy to develop for each Title 1 student (17 to 21 years old) selected for the program a personal life plan. This plan integrates the past with the present enabling the offender to realistically chart a future course of action, to ensure successful reentry to the community. Students selected for the program will be within 2 years of their release.
Jerry Groom, Transitional Services Coordinator for the Windham School District, will select each participant for this program. Once selected, the student will be placed in the Operation Rebound Class, a spiritually based life-skill program designed to focus each student in the 4 Pillars of Rebound: Spirituality, Family Dynamics, Preparing Academically For Life After Release, and Choosing A Life Vocation.
Once the student has completed the Operation Rebound Class, he will enter an Intensive Mentor Phase. This phase continues into aftercare in the community. In this phase, each student will he matched with a mentor who will help them develop their life plan. In the last phase, Ministries 101 will continue the process with the client combining mentoring and reintegration as the client reconnects with family (if possible), forms a nuturing/discipling relationship with a local church, and implements the release plan.
If you would like to he a mentor for this new endeavor, please email us by clicking on contact.
